Health and Disability Sector Ethnicity Data Protocols

The Protocols describe procedures for the standardised collection, recording and output of ethnicity data for the New Zealand health and disability sector. They are based on the Ethnicity-Standard Classification 1996, the Protocols for Official Statistics and the Review of the Measurement of Ethnicity Draft Recommendations of Statistics New Zealand, and provide further information specific to the health and disability sector.

The Protocols were developed with input from a wide range of sector and government organisations, published by the Ministry of Health and endorsed by HISO to assist the implementation process.
