Data Concept Repository
Published: April 2007
The data concept repository is a repository of the metadata used for describing data held in information systems within the New Zealand health sector. Its purpose is to provide a shared and commonly agreed / understood collection of concept definitions, coding nomenclatures and data set definitions.
The standard specifies the key elements of concepts and/or data sets definitions, provides a framework for the specification of an information model, and sets out the core business / change management processes associated with the repository. Specifically the processes around adding new concepts and/or data sets, altering and/or deprecating existing concepts and/or datasets. The standard recommends the starting point for the repository is ISO/IEC 11179 (see endorsed standards)
