The Information Governance in the NZ Health Sector discussion document (PDF, 155KB) is now closed for feedback and comment.
A group of stakeholders have already provided feedback over a two-week period and we are now opening the revised framework for wider comment.
We welcome feedback from a wide range of stakeholder groups and individuals, and from those with strong interest and expertise in the information governance area. Responses are due by 31 January 2012 and may be emailed to enquiries@ithealthboard.health.nz.
Introduction
The purpose of this discussion document is to set up an Information Governance Framework for the New Zealand health and disability sector to assist with decision-making about the use of health information.
There are many complex issues relating to the governance of information across the sector. The framework will be crucial for the future interoperability of the health system and for implementing shared care records. The framework will also help provide leadership and accountability for the sector and significantly reduce duplication of effort and fragmentation.
